Settings Lock – Prevent Users from Changing Windows Settings
I know I took a long time to customize my Windows-powered computer just the way I like it. And I would hate it if someone would tamper with my settings – like when I have guests over and they have to use my computer for a while; or when a family member insists on using my computer. If you feel the same way I do, then I present to you the Leithauser Research-developed application Settings Lock.
What does this application do? Well, as the name so adequately points out, it will put your Windows settings on lockdown. Settings Lock will password protect several Windows settings; unless the user provides the correct password, the following settings cannot be changed:
Before you rush off to download Settings Lock, here are some technical details you might want to know about:
Download – the download weighs in at less than 500KB. This is good news; it means that even on a lousy internet connection the download will complete in no time at all.
Installation – Settings Lock can be installed on just about any version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system (XP or Vista recommended).
Limitations – you can use Settings Lock free of charge only during a trial period of 30 days.
Settings Lock is an incredibly easy to use application that will password protect a grand total of 15 Windows settings.
